Vineland Growers was founded in 1913 by four prominent fruit growers on the Niagara Peninsula. Mr. Ezra Honsberger, Mr. Norman P. Moyer, Mr. Alonzo H. Culp and Mr. Melvin Honsberger came together to create a co-operative to serve the interests of fruit farms in the Niagara Region.

In 1948 the company constructed a pre-cooling facility, the first of its kind on the Niagara Peninsula.

1990s: introduction of “Vineland Brand” fruit. This resulted in expanded business throughout Canada.

The 1990s saw the introduction of “Vineland Brand” fruit as the company re-established its own marketing. This resulted in expanded business throughout Ontario, Quebec and the Eastern Provinces.

2000s: expansion of Vineland’s warehouse in Virgil. The expansion included two cold storages and a container manufacturing area.

In the early 2000s there was a significant expansion upon Vineland’s eastern warehouse in Virgil. The 14,000 square foot expansion included two new cold storages and a container manufacturing area.

100 Years

Vineland Growers Celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2013.

Vineland Growers Celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2013. The company now supplies fruit country-wide and has more than 300 members.
